Filmmaking In and Out of Class: Exploring the Benefits and Challenges of Extra-curricular Film Practice

This research project investigates the relationship between Queen’s film students and the resources and opportunities available to them outside of their class curriculum. As students enrolled in the film department, we wish to explore what other avenues are available to students interested in film production and what these avenues can provide. Using the Queen’s University Film Production Club as a source of extra-curricular film practice, the research in this project examines the benefits of a film production club to students and what a club like this might offer that the Queen’s curriculum does not. This dossier includes interview selections, photos, and findings from academic articles, observations and more.
